Model Railroad Department Stock-Up

Hare’s Hobby has been CENLA’s leader in model railroad supplies for nearly a decade. Building upon the continued support of our customers, we made several large orders over the weekend to increase the stock of Model RR Department.

As energy prices continue to rise, it is important to us to find ways to insulate our customers from constantly rising prices in the hobby industry. Some of our major suppliers announced price increases across the board on their products. In order to avoid many of these increases, Hare’s worked with several suppliers to make large orders on top-of-line products before the price increase took effect.

Over the next two weeks, we expect our orders – including top brands such as Lionel, Athearn, Atlas, Bachmann, Model Power and Woodland Scenic – to arrive within the next two weeks. Here is a brief overview of the new stock:

  • Over a dozen new train sets (HO, N, O)
  • Over 150 pieces of rolling stock (HO, N, O)
  • Over 30 new buildings (HO, N, O)
  • Nearly 100 different pieces of track (HO, N, O)
  • Over 80 track accessories and tools
  • Over a dozen new educational books and magazines

In addition to these new arrivals, Hare’s will be incorporating two new Woodland Scenic display units. We will be putting up the Landscape Center Merchandiser – this unit holds over 100 items. In addition to the landscape products, the Terrain Center Merchandiser (with over 80 new items) will be added to our growing Model RR Department. Not only will these display units have new products, but there will be an extensive supply of instructional materials – books, videos, and learning kits.

Along with the Model RR stock-up, we will be completing our HO scale layout. Some of you may remember this display from the old store. Following the move into the new store in 2006, we did not have a good spot to put the layout back on the showroom floor. In August, we are going to be reorganizing this area of the store in order to incorporate the layout. This display will highlight Model RR items available in the store so you can see first-hand how landscaping techniques and products are used together to create a working train layout.
